Most people learn astrology in fragments. A sun sign from a magazine, a rising sign from an app, a Saturn return from a friend who read something once. The pieces never connect, and the chart stays a picture you cannot read.
This is the other way round. It's ten weeks, built in order, and your own chart is the text. You don't memorise interpretations. You learn the system well enough to build them yourself, so you can read a chart I've never shown you, including your own, for the rest of your life.
I teach the traditional planets first, in the Hellenistic order, because that is the system the whole thing was built on and it holds together. Everything modern gets added on top of a foundation that already stands.
this is for you if
- You know your big three and want to know what to do with them
- You have read a lot and still cannot read a chart
- You want the actual system, not a list of meanings to memorise
- You are willing to be a beginner for ten weeks
maybe not if
- You want a reading rather than a skill; book a reading instead
- You want predictions and certainty; this course teaches indicators, not causes
the ten weeks
Every week links to a free write-up of that session's concepts in the codex. The concepts are free. What you're paying for is learning to use them on your own chart.

01
Why the Sky Speaks
The premise underneath all of it: what it means to read a sky at all, and why a chart describes without dictating.

02
The Chart Is a Sky Map
What a chart actually is: the sky from exactly where you stood. The angles, the houses, and why your birth time matters.

03
The Four Elements
Fire, earth, air, water as felt experience rather than vocabulary. Why your chart can feel like four different people.

04
Modalities & Signs
The three modalities, then all twelve signs, built from ingredients rather than memorised from a list.

07
Rulerships
Every sign has a planet in charge of it. This is the week the chart stops being a list and starts being a network.

Transits & the Five Aspects
What the sky is doing now, and what it is doing to you. Weather moving across a landscape that does not change. Then the five aspects: how the planets see each other.

Personal Synthesis
Putting it together in your own words. By this point you're the one saying what your chart says, instead of being told.

questions
- Do I need to know anything first?
- No. That is the point of Part 1. If you know your sun sign you are already ahead of where you need to be.
- What if I miss a week?
- Every session is recorded, so you will not lose the material. Sessions build on each other though, so come when you can.
- Is my chart private?
- Yes. We work with your chart, but you choose what you share with the room. Nobody is ever put on the spot.
- In person or Zoom?
- Either. The rock shop group and the Zoom group are one class, same session, same time.
- Is there a Part 2?
- Yes, eventually: dignities, deeper sect and timing techniques. Part 1 stands completely on its own, though.
- What do I need to bring?
- An accurate birth time, plus your birth date and birth place. That's the one real requirement, since without a birth time half the chart can't be calculated. Your birth certificate is the best source, so start looking now. Bring something to write with too.
- How do I hold a seat?
- A $75 deposit holds it. That comes off your total, and it is nonrefundable. The balance is due one week before the first session, either in full or as the first of the two payments.
- Is this the same as the monthly gathering?
- No, and they run side by side. The gathering is open conversation about the current sky on the first Sunday of the month, and it keeps going. This is a lecture-style class that runs ten weeks and builds a skill in order. Class takes the other Sundays of the month.
